Client Overview

The Rockies is a well-known natural attraction along Seven Creeks in Euroa and forms part of the popular Apex Walking Track within Strathbogie Shire. The existing creek crossing had long been identified by the community as requiring replacement to improve safety, accessibility and connectivity.

Strathbogie Shire Council delivered the project as part of a broader infrastructure investment aimed at enhancing community facilities and supporting regional tourism. The new bridge provides a permanent pedestrian connection across Seven Creeks, improving access for residents and visitors while preserving the area’s natural setting.

Heuron Group (Struktis) was engaged to deliver the design, engineering, fabrication and construction of the new suspension pedestrian bridge, providing an infrastructure solution that balanced structural performance with the surrounding landscape.

03

Engineering Solution

Struktis delivered a purpose-designed suspension pedestrian bridge engineered specifically for the environmental conditions at The Rockies and the functional requirements of a high-use public walking trail.

The bridge was designed to provide a safe and reliable crossing while accommodating two-way pedestrian traffic and improving accessibility for users of varying mobility. Structural detailing was developed to provide long-term durability with minimal maintenance, ensuring the bridge would continue to perform in an outdoor creek environment exposed to seasonal weather conditions.

Working closely with Strathbogie Shire Council, Struktis managed the design, engineering, fabrication and construction of the bridge, delivering an integrated solution that complements the surrounding landscape while meeting the operational requirements of public infrastructure.

04

Project Outcomes

The completed suspension bridge now provides a permanent, accessible connection across Seven Creeks, linking sections of the Apex Walking Track and improving access throughout The Rockies recreation area.

The project has enhanced safety, accessibility and visitor experience while supporting one of Strathbogie Shire’s most valued community assets. Designed for long-term performance and low maintenance, the bridge demonstrates Struktis’ capability to deliver engineered pedestrian bridge solutions that combine structural integrity, functionality and sensitive integration within natural environments.
